Walking in Winter - Solo Exhibition
The Stables, Courtyard Arts Gallery
For six weeks from December 2023 to January 2024 , my work was exhibited in The Stables gallery at Courtyard Arts. The exhibition explored the winter landscape, emphasising the vivid colours of winter rather than the greys we are so used to. The body of work was created especially for the exhibition over three months, and was an exercise in mark-marking using mixed media. The pieces, including the landscape above, were mostly created using ink, gouache, and pastel pencil, in a slow process of layering to create depth and colour.
"Walking in Winter" aimed to take the viewer through a rich, and at times, fantastical landscape. This exhibition allowed me to take all that I had learnt from my residency and put it into practise.
